The LBD – Military Inspired

SONY DSC

The year is coming to a full close and I must admit it has been a good year for me so far. I have had my share of ups and downs but that is what life is all about. Life will hit you with curve balls and it is up to you to fight back or let it take over your life. However, I am strong women so I always fight back and I always come back stronger. I thought to myself, what would be the best way to portray my fighting spirit? Well, of course a military inspired outfit.

The Outfit

I found this dress at Goodwill the other day and I knew I had to make it mine. I love anything that is black and gold; and I love it even more if it is a cute LBD. This is one of those few LBD’s that is truly a standout and a showstopper. I kept the outfit fairly simple by adding ankle straps, a black coat and a red lipstick. This whole outfit was purchased at Goodwill, what can I say, I love to shop at Goodwill.

Outfit Cost: $23.00

  • Coat: $12:00

Merry Christmas – late!

SONY DSCHello Loves!

I hope everyone had a fantastic Christmas and that you spent it with the people you love the most and that you got everything you wished for.  I was out of town for Christmas and decided to dedicate my entire time there to my family. Therefore, I am sorry I am late posting my Christmas outfit but I really love to enjoy the holidays.

The Outfit

This is the Altuzarra dress from the Target Collaboration. I waited so long to wear this dress because I knew it would be perfect. There is something so cheerful about the birds that remind me of Christmas. The dress was featured with closed ankle straps and that thick belt on the waist. I knew I wanted to wear similar shoes but I really didn’t like the belt. So, I scourged the internet for the perfect belt and I found this one. I loved the gold accents of the belt and it looked lovely with the birds.

Happy Fashion.

Blushing Over Blush.

Hello loves!

Just a very quick post as I am super busy today!

I am wearing these shoes again because they are extremely comfortable. I might just have to buy myself a second pair in case I damaged these ^.^ I am currently running around from one place to the next as I am cooking Christmas Eve dinner tomorrow and I am trying to make sure I cover all the last minute details. My family celebrates Christmas Eve; so we have a huge dinner and wait up till midnight to open presents. While we wait though, we are either reminiscing of the past, dancing, telling jokes or simply just bonding with the family. So without further or due….

The Outfit Details:

I am wearing this cute and comfortable shirt from Ann Taylor I bought at Goodwill! I am in love with the color blush. It is one of those colors that really is just beautiful. I decide to wear a skirt today because it is warm in Miami today. I bought this skirt at the Gap a few months ago and I it was love at first sight. I love the “mesh” material at the bottom – it gives the skirt just a chic look. Of course, as I already mentioned I couldn’t help myself from wearing these shoes again. To keep it really chic, I topped my outfit with my go to purse. Hope ya’ll like.

Total Cost of Outfit: $105.50

  • Top: $3.00
  • Skirt: $30.00
  • Shoes: $70.00
  • Purse: $2.50

Happy Fashion.

Winter Is Here

SONY DSC

Hello Loves!

Winter is officially here! While I know that most of you have already been covered in snow, you are probably reading this and saying, “Is she serious?!” But, serious I am being in deed. The first day of Winter was yesterday and I must say that for us South Floridians the weather was actually warm compared to the last few days ( it’s been “nippy” and/or chilly here). Many of you might and might not know that it doesn’t really get cold here in Miami or South Florida for that matter. Our winters are EXTREMELY mild and some might even say we don’t get winter at all, which in all honesty is very true. The draw back about having to live somewhere warm is that you do not get to see snow ( ever ) and if you’re into fashion, you’ll never be able to bundle up and look fabulous. I promise though, I am not complaining. I have seen snow – don’t care for it and I can only handle so much cold; 50 degrees to be exact. So, with this being said, my fashion looks for winter will most likely be different than most bloggers and at times, you might think it’s summer/spring wear instead of winter wear ( gotta work with what I have). However, I am going to make it my mission to provide you with as many as “winter fashion” looks as possible.

The outfit:

Ok, the shoes are part of my Christmas present and as I mentioned in my previous post, I DO NOT do gift wrapping. Instead, as soon as the FedEx guy left, I ripped the bag open and wore my shoes immediately ( talk about being impatient!). During the day, I rocked the shoes with a pair of jeans, a black top, a black blazer and my blush colored bag. Since I was going to be out all day, I wanted an outfit that I could easily transition for an early Christmas dinner. The dinner was very casual and laid back, so I knew I could get away with this look. The only think I swapped out was my purse for the black clutch. The shoes were the talk of the evening I must add. They are absolutely gorgeous!!! I fell in love with them as soon as I saw them. I had been craving for the Valentino’s original version ( see here ) for a while now but I can’t fork out $1000 for a pair. These however, fit the bill perfectly – they looked like the Valentino’s without the Valentino price tag.

Total Cost of Outfit: $88.50 ( not including Handbag).

Faux-Leather & Vintage Peplum

SONY DSC

Hope everyone is having an awesome Friday night!

Today I took it back to the 80’s! The top is a total vintage ( 80’s) blouse I scored at the thrift store a few months back. Actually, my sister got this for my birthday back in April! I loved this top but that the time, I didn’t fit right. It was too tight. Thankfully, I have trimmed down some more and now it actually fits lovely. I thought I would get it altered but I am not, I actually love the way it looks. I wanted to keep things neutral so I wore these with my faux-leather jeans ( it was a bit cold this morning) and my oh-so fabulous silver shoes. I must mention that these are also part of my x-mas present….

Side note –  I don’t do well with wrapped gifts. I actually tell my boyfriend what I want and he buys it. There is no point of having them wrapped it I know what I am getting. Therefore, I wear all of my x-mas presents way before x-mas 🙂

I wanted to keep the outfit edgy so I wore this metal clutch to keep the metallic’s going. The clutch was actually purchased in New Orleans – which explains why its so cool.

Total cost of Outfit: $84.00

  • Top: $9.00
  • Jeans: $25.00
  • Clutch: $30.00
  • Shoes: $20.00

Thigh-High Boots

SONY DSCHello Loves!

I am wearing my favorite pair of boots today! I just love these boots and I always get excited when I get to wear them. They are extremely warm so they are best suited for those very chilly days. I’ll be the first to admit that I should have worn them on another day, but screw it. They are so gorgeous and comfy that I couldn’t myself.

The Outfit:

I was feeling very daring today so I decided to wear them with this cute skater skirt I found at a Goodwill the other day. I just love how sexy this skirt and the boots look together without it being too revealing. The bonus part about these boots? They make me look sooo much taller than what I really am ( tall + lean legs? yes, please 🙂 )Everything else just kinda fell into place with this outfit. The top, clutch & lip color were my extra accessories to complete this look.

Total Cost of this Outfit: $5.98 ( if you include the boots  $105.98)

  • Top: $0.98
  • Skirt: $2.50
  • Clutch: $2.50
  • Boots (old): $100.00

Put More Sparkle In Your Step

SONY DSCHello Loves!

Yes, more sparkle for me. Actually, I think I might be running out of sparkle ( if that even is possible) but I am not 100% sure if this is my last sparkling piece. I wanted to wear these shorts one last time before I departed with them. I really love them, but they have gotten to the point were they are too big on me.

Outfit Details:

I wanted to let the shorts do all the shinning so I did this whole black think. I wore a black button- up chiffon shirt with a faux-leather collar and sleeves,  added a black blazer for a more “sharp” look, black leggings to fend off the cold and black heels. I really wanted to the shorts to shine and I really like sequin shorts with blazers. I did a cool red lip and my hair side swept. Unfortunately, I am going through an awkward stage with my hair. The bangs I did this summer are growing out and since I have curly hair, the shrinkage is unbearable. I am running out of ideas with my hair! Anyway, hope you like this look.

Total cost of Outfit: $35.50

  • Top: $5.00
  • Blazer: gifted
  • Shorts: $3.50
  • Pantyhose: $5.00

Sunday Vibes

SONY DSC

Hello Loves!

Not much going on here but planning out my week. Here’s a quick post of today’s #ootd.

This whole outfit ( except the shoes) were purchased at Goodwill. I really wanted to wear this skirt today and since the weather allowed for leather, I just had to wear it. I wore the skirt with this gorgeous tank-top “tee” and my second Christmas present, the shoes! Aren’t they lovely? I bought this pair at Kohls and surprisingly enough, they look exactly like a pair from Steve Madden, see below. The big difference was the price! The Steve Madden one’s are available for $109.99 and the one’s I got from Kohl’s were $64.00 BUT I got them for $35.00 with a coupons. I kept my make-up natural-ish and my hair brushed back. It was a bit chilly so I added this long blazer to keep me warm.

This is the perfect outfit for happy hours or hanging out with your girlfriends.

Total cost of outfit: $50.50

  • Top: $4.00
  • Skirt: $3.00
  • Shoes: $35.00
  • Blazer: $6.00
  • Clutch: $2.50

The Gingham Pants

SONY DSC

Hello Loves!

I am a complete fan of high waisted pants, especially if they are gingham ( or plaid). I bought these Goodwill the other day and I must be honest, I was a bit apprehensive about buying these pants. The reason, well because they do need to be tailored. They fit just a bit baggy towards the bottom so I was a bit on the fence because of the cost. However, after much debate and realizing they were 50% off that day, I took a plunge and bought them. I still wore them without having them tailored because I couldn’t resist myself, but honestly I will be taking these to the tailor. I am pretty sure it will cost me about $5 – $10.00 but hey, that’s cheap.  This whole outfit was thrifted except the shoes – those are part of my x-mas present.

I wore pink for two reasons: One, when I tried them on I was wearing a hot pink workout shirt and I loved the contrast that the neon color gave the white and black print. Two: I loved the way it looked with my snake print heels! I kept it pretty simple from then on out. I added nice pink lip and the gorgeous black bag. Hope you guys like!

Total Cost Of Outfit: $33.50

  • Top: $3.00
  • Pants: $3.00
  • Shoes: $25.00 ( On Sale)
  • Clutch: $2.50

The Simple Things

SONY DSC

Hello Loves!

The cold weather has made its way down south and it has been very cold these last few days. I have made it my mission to try to stay warm as I get cold easily. I look ridicules with the extra layers of clothes I wear every day, lol. Anyway, this is a simple look I pulled together yesterday. Sorry the photos are grainy, but I took them towards the night and my camera ( since it doesn’t have the flash) isn’t the best at night.

The outfit

There is something about the cold weather that makes every one wear dark clothes. When its cold, I only gravitate towards all things dark, deep and rich in color. I bought the top on eBay and although it is warm and it is a nice shirt, I hate the sleeves ( hence why i rolled them up). The sleeve are not even 3/4 they’re just weird, the cut is wrong. I am going to fix this issue by perhaps making it 3/4 and taking the fabric in a bit. I paired it with faux-leather jeans, black booties and black purse. I added a bit of color by wearing a nice dark red lip.

Cost of Outfit: $53.00

  • Top: $5.00
  • Jeans: $25.00
  • purse: $3.00
  • Boots: $20.00
