It has been a very dreary week so far in Charlotte; cold, cloudy and rain. This is the kind of weather that I want to curl in my bed with a cup of hot chocolate and sleep. This weather is very uninspiring and I get extremely lazy. I’m hoping that the weekend forecast is far more forgiving.
When I first started putting this outfit together, I got that “70s” vibe because it’s an a-line skirt and I paired it with a turtleneck. The whole look looked retro and I wanted to mix that retro vibe with a little bit of bad ass. That is why I added the over the knee boots (OTK) and the faux-fur vest. The faux-fur vest is probably one of my favorite fall/winter pieces! I was lucky enough to find this piece at my local Goodwill back in Miami ( a few years back) and I only paid $2.50 for it (score!). Finally, I added this season’s most coveted fall/winter item the chocolate brown wool coat. I was fortunate enough to stumble across this piece at my local Goodwill. At first, it looked a bit overwhelming for my small frame but once I styled it with the OTK boots the “overpowering” piece really balanced itself out. The coat was actually the last piece added to this outfit as honestly, I had not planned to wear it with this outfit. I’m glad I did because it added that extra side of coolness to this outfit while keeping that “retro” vibe.
s/n – the boots are over the knee but they have the option to fold the top half inside the shoe.
