I love a nice pair of pleated pants, especially if they’re nice and fitted at the leg yet versatile enough to make it work for the that 9-5 or for a casual day. I paired the pants with a beautiful crop top I purchased about a year ago and quite frankly, I need to get this shirt taken in a bit. Now, I added this hot pink coat ( which also needs to be taken in ever so slightly ;( ) to show you that this outfit can be worn on chillier days with a nice coat. Please note, I was HOT AS HELL! It is 82 degrees out there today, I was melting! I only took pictures with the coat, there is no way I was wearing that, ha ha ha ha ha. I decided to make it this outfit a bit more glamours by accessorizing it with that bold bracelet and shoes; I gave it a contrast with the clutch,
So, today was a HOT one in South Florida. Yeah, yeah, yeah…I know, I know. I live in Miami, it should be hot. However, we hit a record heat low for this month. It was a whopping 88 degrees in Miami today and although we are known for reaching the lower 80’s all the time, this isn’t the case for this time of year.
Therefore, I brought it back to this cool “silk” like dress. It is the perfect dress for those hot days and you just want to cool it. I kept it clean and cool with these cute heels from Steve Madden and that gorgeous gold bag from Steve Madden as well.
Those lazy weekends when you want to conquer the world but don’t have the energy to do so. Yup, that’s the currently feeling. A slight headache coming in and a bit drowsy….hope this doesn’t mean I’m getting sick.
This is my Saturday #ootd. I think the outfit was very much inspired by the day; it’s dark and gloomy outside. I kept everything within the black/light gray/dark gray/white color scheme. A very relaxed and comfy outfit indeed, absolutely no makeup ( ok maybe lip gloss) my cap to hide the mess that my hair currently is, stretchy track pants and the comfiest of comfiest tank and jacket. I bought this tweed like bomber jack at the Gap Outlet a few weeks ago and I can’t stop wearing it. My favorite thing about this look though? The bag of course! This is that perfect bag when you just want to carry your credit card, a lip gloss, ID and some cash. The best part that you can wear this either up or down and it will still look great!
Ok, so I think that lately i have been slightly obsessed with animal print. Not sure why, but i have been in the mood to wear EVERYTHING animal print ha ha ha. I think it might my inner animal instinct.
The top is a gorgeous vest I found at goodwill and decided to pair it with this pencil skirt because the top is subtle yet it adds an element of surprise to the whole outfit. I know, less is more but this just looks smoking together! I’ve added a picture below of the vest so that you can see the details better. I can’t wait to pair the vest with a pair of olive green pants and perhaps a pair of nude pumps, to give it that military flare?! The skirt you might recognize from the Target and Altuzarra collection and it is as pretty as it is in the pictures. I just the slit on the skirt; however; let’s not talk about my much needed tan! And I live in Florida! lol.
It was actually a chilly day in South Florida today. Ok, so we’ve had a few chilly days here and there but I wore a sweater today so it counts!LOL.
I can’t gush enough about this gorgeous sweater I bought at Goodwill the other day. It’s sooooo pretty and the color is just amazing! I decided to pair the sweater with these very chic faux-suede/cord legging jeans from the gap that I also happened to have bought at Goodwill (actually, come to think of it, the whole outfit was thrifted with the exception of the bag). The shoes were featured on thrifted rags a few weeks ago, check here. I just love the combination of mustard yellow with oxblood/burgundy. I wish you could see the color better but unfortunately I am still having camera issues.
The element of surprise this fall season was definitely pastels. Pastels are better known to be the epitome color of spring; however, many designers such as Miu Miu, Just Cavalli, Nina Ricci, Gucci and many others, had different hues of pastel making a splash here and there on their runway shows. Of course, I had to take a stab at it and so here it is!
If you are ever in Miami, FL (not South Beach, because those are actually two different cities) you have to make sure to make a pit stop in Wynwood a.k.a Design District and check out the sick art there. There is soooo many cool art around the neighborhood that you might just want to take a picture of it. However, make sure you do so soon. Unfortunately, because of the heavy construction, commercialization and retailers that have opened in the area, several of the art galleries in the neighborhood are moving :(. Hopefully the street art remains but that is still to be determined.
The Outfit Details:
It was a tank-top and jeans kinda day for me. I did have an early start so I pulled out the jacket but honestly by the afternoon it was a warm 84 degrees. However, by the evening it’s set to be “cool” so I’ll keep the jacket with me, just in case I need it. I added the shoes for a an extra “kick in my step” and because I practically use any excuse to wear leopard. However, this is one of those outfits that you can pretty much wear just about any pair of shoes and the outfit will still look good.
Today I bring you the midi dress I got at Target for $17.99 on clearance! Yes, ladies and gentlmen off the rack ( if we can say this considering target’s clothes are already cheap). I have to admit though, I did buy the dress about a size too big but it was the last one and I just couldn’t help myself; besides, it doesn’t fit too big so I’ll have it taken in. This is a very comfortable dress and I am surprised I did not see it before; either way, I am glad I didn’t because I got it for a very small amount. I also splurged on another few items while at Target. I was able to find the python pencil skirt from the Altuzarra collection for $10.58 and the sheer bow tie top for $8.99 ( score)!
I had been on the hunt for the perfect Midi dress and this one fit the bill. I love the material of the dress, it’s not “bandage” where it hugs every nook and cranny that you want to hide, it actually hugs your curves and hides the “love handles” lol. The print is the second reason why I wanted this dress. I love a good floral print and I love it even more if I can wear the print and/or piece year round. I accessorized with a pair of oxblood shoes because I wanted that color to stand out from the floral print and paired it with a nice blush bag. I kept the jewelry to a minimum because you don’t really much when the dress is this gorgeous.
My boyfriend and I have VERY different taste. His style is very subtle, “tranquil” with a hint of color. That is the best way I can describe his style, lol. Mine, it’s more like all over the place. I do not stick to one color, trend, shade, style “type”; I just go with whatever mood I happy to be on that particular day.
Every night, I prep my clothes for the next day because this saves me a lot of time in the morning. I normally try things on, to make sure they fit or look like how I want it too ( since I plan outfits in my head, sometime it looks better in my head loll). I walked out of the closet and I ask my boyfriend ( expect a reaffirmation that the outfit is ok for work) “What do you think aboutthis for work tomorrow?” Now, I only asked because I like his second opinion when it comes to work. I work at a real estate office and although it is usually only me in the office, I want to make sure that my outfit isn’t “too much” for work, since I can get carried away sometimes, lol lol. He looked at me from head to toe and said, “the shoes are too much; it looks like you’re going out, out” ( his words I promise) Man was I disappointed for half a second. I then replied, ” the shirt is appropriate and so the shirt, I’m wearing the darn shoes.” He then said, “well, I think the shoes are too much.” As I walked away, I turned and said, ” sometimes, you just have to let the shoes do all the talking.” Ha! I wore the darn shoes and the necklace to boot. It was a casual Thursday, the day before Halloween if I may add, why not?

Today it’s all about color blocking and adding that pop of color. This outfit is one of my “splurge”pieces; however, “splurge” means a lot of different things to different people so I’ll explain. I bought this dress at the Gap and from the moment I laid eyes on it, I knew I had to have it so I did. The dress though was $79.95 and that is waaaaaay more than I could spend on one single item. I know, I know….quality over quantity but $80 for a dress is a lot for a college student on a part-time job and budget. Luckily enough though I was able to get this dress half off, so that was my splurge 😉 I love this dress because the “flare” is actually structure, meaning ( if I could explain myself) the flare part will remain “puffy” because of the way it was sewn. So it naturally has that pretty flare. The second thing I loved about this dress is that it makes you look slimming and it really gives your body a nice “hourglass” shape. The fact that it is structured at the top and flared at the bottom really gives it that illusion of a much slimmer tummy. The third and final thing I loved about this dress, the fabric. It is a really nice and thick fabric that will keep you cozy; you can easily transition from fall to winter maybe even to spring but after that to storage. This is way to hot for those hot, muggy and humid summer days.
