Faux-Fur Leopard Vest

The last two weeks were a little rough but I am glad to finally be back blogging. I want to start featuring other things on the blog besides my outfit posts and I will slowly try to introduce that into the blog. It’s pretty tough to try to get things done when you have a full-time job but I am going to try to get better at my time management skills.

Outfit Details

I had originally planned on only wearing this waffle turtleneck and leggings but I felt like this outfit needed one more thing to make it pop.I decided to throw on this faux-fur leopard vest and my Valentino-esque shoes. I purchased this faux-fur vest at Goodwill  for a measly $2.50 and while it doesn’t have a brand tag on it, I can tell you it’s a pretty good quality piece. The shoes are actually some of my favorite pair of shoes ( I have these in three colors) they are definitely not the Valentino Rockstud they’re BCBGs interpretation of the Valentinos. While they might not be the real thing, they are comfortable and are probably one of the best replicas I’ve seen out there.

Baroque Midi Skirt

There was a time when girls my height ( 5’4 & under) were afraid to were midi skirts. The obvious reason to this is that, it eats up at our height. However, I am so glad that more and more petit girls are waving goodbye to fashion no-no’s and trying out fashion trends “prohibited” to smaller girls. The key to midi skirts ( you’ve probably read this before) is to wear them high. I bought this skirt at Romwe back in early spring and had been dying to wear it. I paired it with a blush top, gold embellished heels & a gold clutch. I love that the fabric material of the skirt is very thick making it ideal for spring & fall.

Till next time !

Karla.

SCALLOPED SKIRT

There is something about this outfit that reminds me of Carrie Bradshaw. I think it might be the coat or perhaps its because I have been watching reruns of Sex And The City. I bought this pretty little skirt at Ann Taylor back in spring and I never got around to it. It’s  a pretty little skirt with the cutest little scallops on the bottom. It reminds me of the Christian Dior 2016 Ready-to-wear collection (here) white scalloped shorts. Of course, my version is much more affordable. Since the skirt fits me right on my waist, I decided to pair with a crop top and this cute spring coat. The shoes were my little pop of (preppy) color.

All that fringe

Fringe is still hot this season and it is rolling right into the next. I purchased this skirt back in spring and have been in love with it since. I wanted a chic and “lazy” outfit for a lazy Saturday and this was perfect.

Hope you have a wonderful Saturday.

Sweet Pastels + Metallics #ootd

Pastels must be the long word for pastries! ( no, its not, but it should). Being a spring baby I can’t help but love pastels. The sweetness of the colors is as tasteful as cupcakes, and like cupcakes, should be worn sparingly. I only say this because lets be honest, as pretty as the colors are ( like white) they get dirty easily and are normally associated with spring. Although, this “rule” this fall season, when pastels were seen all over the runway.

Outfit Details

I revolved this outfit around my pants – I really like how flattering they are. I knew I wanted to do pastels, so I paired it with these very pretty blue shirt and my bedazzled Steve Madden Heels. The outcome? I nice mixture of pastels and metallics.  Hope you all like!

T H R E E M I X – GINGHAM PANTS

These pants are definitely a big hit in my closet. I love how completely flattering they are on my shape and comfortable they are. Which is probably why I have wore these three times but I remixed every piece. My favorite of the three is the long sleeve polka-dot look. There is something so chic and vintage-y about this particular look. Happy Fashion, Karla. SONY DSC SONY DSC SONY DSC

#OOTD – Happy Friday

Gingham has been all the rave this season and I’ve been rocking it since last season! Yes, I considered myself the fortune teller of fashion but I knew gingham was coming back. I love these pants so much because they are super comfortable and of course flattering. I purchased these at goodwill last fall, but if you see below, I was able to find a similar style.I love how the cut and the print hides my small pouch ( that I am crunching, sit upping and running to get rid of!). Today though, I decided to rock these pants with this lovely crop top I bought at Forever 21 a few weeks ago. This is definitely a  happy hour look you can rock on a nice spring evening.

Till next time!

Androgynous – Gingham + Polka-dots

Today, I borrowed a few tips from the boys. I love menswear – the suits, the jackets, the blazers, the pants, the shoes…I can go on and on. The top really inspired this look because the bow really makes it seems as if I were wearing a tie as opposed to a knot made on the shirt. Once I put the top on and made the bow, I knew that I was going to be wearing my high-waisted gingham pants. It is the perfect piece to wear with this gorgeous top. This is a nice subtle yet chic way of borrowing pieces from the boys without looking too masculine. I kept the outfit simple by wearing black heels, a black clutch & a black coat ( it’s been chilly). In order to give it that extra “POW” I side swept my curls and wore a bold red lip.

I love how this outfit came out nicely because it reminds me of the 50’s – back when women wore high-waisted pants, gorgeous hair and red lips. The pants look extremely slimming and the top is just the perfect piece that really makes this outfit standout. I recently purchased this top from Loft by Ann Taylor ( outlet ) as they were having a huge sale. The pants are also from Ann Taylor but these were purchased at goodwill and I have a feeling these probably date back a few years.

Outfit total: $50.00 (<- A complete coincidence lol)

  • Top: $18.00
  • Pants: $3.00
  • Shoes: $25.00
  • Clutch: $4.00

Blushing Over Blush.

SONY DSC

Hello loves!

Just a very quick post as I am super busy today!

I am wearing these shoes again because they are extremely comfortable. I might just have to buy myself a second pair in case I damaged these ^.^ I am currently running around from one place to the next as I am cooking Christmas Eve dinner tomorrow and I am trying to make sure I cover all the last minute details. My family celebrates Christmas Eve; so we have a huge dinner and wait up till midnight to open presents. While we wait though, we are either reminiscing of the past, dancing, telling jokes or simply just bonding with the family. So without further or due….

The Outfit Details:

I am wearing this cute and comfortable shirt from Ann Taylor I bought at Goodwill! I am in love with the color blush. It is one of those colors that really is just beautiful. I decide to wear a skirt today because it is warm in Miami today. I bought this skirt at the Gap a few months ago and I it was love at first sight. I love the “mesh” material at the bottom – it gives the skirt just a chic look. Of course, as I already mentioned I couldn’t help myself from wearing these shoes again. To keep it really chic, I topped my outfit with my go to purse. Hope ya’ll like.

Total Cost of Outfit: $105.50

  • Top: $3.00
  • Skirt: $30.00
  • Shoes: $70.00
  • Purse: $2.50

Happy Fashion.

Winter Is Here

SONY DSC

Hello Loves!

Winter is officially here! While I know that most of you have already been covered in snow, you are probably reading this and saying, “Is she serious?!” But, serious I am being in deed. The first day of Winter was yesterday and I must say that for us South Floridians the weather was actually warm compared to the last few days ( it’s been “nippy” and/or chilly here). Many of you might and might not know that it doesn’t really get cold here in Miami or South Florida for that matter. Our winters are EXTREMELY mild and some might even say we don’t get winter at all, which in all honesty is very true. The draw back about having to live somewhere warm is that you do not get to see snow ( ever ) and if you’re into fashion, you’ll never be able to bundle up and look fabulous. I promise though, I am not complaining. I have seen snow – don’t care for it and I can only handle so much cold; 50 degrees to be exact. So, with this being said, my fashion looks for winter will most likely be different than most bloggers and at times, you might think it’s summer/spring wear instead of winter wear ( gotta work with what I have). However, I am going to make it my mission to provide you with as many as “winter fashion” looks as possible.

The outfit:

Ok, the shoes are part of my Christmas present and as I mentioned in my previous post, I DO NOT do gift wrapping. Instead, as soon as the FedEx guy left, I ripped the bag open and wore my shoes immediately ( talk about being impatient!). During the day, I rocked the shoes with a pair of jeans, a black top, a black blazer and my blush colored bag. Since I was going to be out all day, I wanted an outfit that I could easily transition for an early Christmas dinner. The dinner was very casual and laid back, so I knew I could get away with this look. The only think I swapped out was my purse for the black clutch. The shoes were the talk of the evening I must add. They are absolutely gorgeous!!! I fell in love with them as soon as I saw them. I had been craving for the Valentino’s original version ( see here ) for a while now but I can’t fork out $1000 for a pair. These however, fit the bill perfectly – they looked like the Valentino’s without the Valentino price tag.

Total Cost of Outfit: $88.50 ( not including Handbag).

  • Top: $4.00
  • Jeans: $12.00
  • Blazer: Gift
  • Shoes: $70.00
  • Clutch: $2.50
  • Purse: (old) $140.00
