The cold days

We’ve been attacked by a “cold front” here in Florida – so that means, boots, coats, scarves, etc…I should mention that by cold front, I mean high of 50’s. Yes, I know we are very weak down here but hey, it happens. I went out last night to celebrate my girlfriend’s big 3-0 birthday. I knew I wanted to wear these thigh-high boots and a dress, so I pulled this out of the closet. I wore this dress once already with purple heels but I wanted to try something different this time around. The dress a pretty flair so I knew the boots would look really nice. Since it was cold out, I threw on this coat and I also wore black pantyhose to keep me extra warm. To finish this look, I wore a bold lip color and clutch.

Happy Fashion.

Color Block// OOTD

Hi Loves!

Today it’s all about color blocking and adding that pop of color. This outfit is one of my “splurge”pieces; however, “splurge” means a lot of different things to different people so I’ll explain. I bought this dress at the Gap and from the moment I laid eyes on it, I knew I had to have it so I did. The dress though was $79.95 and that is waaaaaay more than I could spend on one single item. I know, I know….quality over quantity but $80 for a dress is a lot for a college student on a part-time job and budget. Luckily enough though I was able to get this dress half off, so that was my splurge 😉 I love this dress because the “flare” is actually structure, meaning ( if I could explain myself) the flare part will remain “puffy” because of the way it was sewn. So it naturally has that pretty flare. The second thing I loved about this dress is that it makes you look slimming and it really gives your body a nice “hourglass” shape. The fact that it is structured at the top and flared at the bottom really gives it that illusion of a much slimmer tummy. The third and final thing I loved about this dress, the fabric. It is a really nice and thick fabric that will keep you cozy; you can easily transition from fall to winter maybe even to spring but after that to storage. This is way to hot for those hot, muggy and humid summer days.

Total Cost of this outfit: $209.50

  • Dress $39.50 ( Promotion)
  • Shoes $20.00 (On Sale)
  • Bag: $140.00 (On Sale)
  • Necklace $10.00 (Promotion)

Easy Sunday

Sunday, the day that we should take time off from our busy schedules and rest. For me, it was an easy going morning and afternoon. I went to a Seafood Festival where the food was YUUUUMMMM ! Of course if you grow up you on the coast or in an island, you either  learn to love or loath seafood. In my case, I love seafood! I can’t get enough of it. The boyfriend and I had an easy afternoon of walking, snapping pics and eating. Now, it’s time for reality and homework it is. I have two semesters to go before graduation and plan on passing every single class left in my curriculum. I am ready lord!

This is an easy outfit, not much that I did to make it stand out as the color is a stand out all on its own. I paired it with strappy, beige/off white ruffled sandals (BTW thrifted brand new with tags at Goodwill for $5.00!) and a vintage cross body ( not shown) Dooney & Bourke bag. I kept my face bare with a bit of gloss and natural eyeshadow.

Hope you all had a fantastic Sunday.

Wild Summer

SONY DSC SONY DSC SONY DSCSONY DSC

I finally wore this dress that was given to me on my birthday by a dear friend of mine.Yes, it’s as perfect as I thought it would be. I wore this to go thrift store shopping and run errands on a very HOT summer day here in Miami. I have to say it’s a very nice dress and perfect for the weather.

I also, *suprise surprise* got a new hair cut. Yup, I got bangs this weekend and I retouched my ombré. I kind of hated the bangs at first (I have to admit) but I have warmed up to them as the days have gone by; because I have curly hair so my coils curl really bad. Anyway, I am warming up to it very slowly.

Festival Season

I love festival season !

Yes, I know that kicked off a few months ago. I would like to think that Miami kicks it off with Ultra Festival ( but that’s only because I am biased to my city he he ^_^). This weekend New York City is in full gear with their festival, Governors Ball. Although, I wish I was there right now, I honestly can’t complain. I was a few weeks ago at Hangout Music Festival in Gulf Shores, Alabama and I must say, “IT WAS EVERYTHING!” I love music almost as much as I love breathing!

However, what I love about festivals ( besides the music of course) is the fashion. Yes, I love the shorts, the crop tops, the dresses, the pants ( or not pants lol) the shoes, the floral headbands etc…

This look is inspired by music festivals. I bought this dress at urban outfitters and from the moment I laid eyes on it, I knew that this dress was perfect for music festivals. Although, it is long sleeve it is sheer so it’s not like you are going to be hot. It is a short dress, but I am 5’3 so it’s perfect for my height. I matched the dress with these Di Marni gladiator chunky heels and a coach drawstring bag. The hat was just an extra added accessory to beat the sun.

I will compile on my next blog post a few of my outfits to my recent music festivals along with photos from the different events.
