T H R E E M I X: The Vinyl Pants

Hello Loves! Threemix is  probably my favorite segment. This is where I show you how to style one piece of clothing three different ways. Of course, I’ll wear the item more than three times and perhaps once I reach nine different ways, I’ll have a segment for that today.

I think it was the first time I featured these pants on the blog that I mentioned how intimating these pants may seem at first. It’s perhaps the “trash bag” or “wet look” that may seem intimidating. However, as you can see these are not intimating at all. In fact, plenty of other bloggers have featured these pants featured in different ways.  These pants were purchased at Target from the Who What Wear brand. I believe, I paid no more than $10.00 for these.

Double Breasted Blazer + “Mom” Jeans

My husband is not a fan of this jean style and I’m completely in love. “Mom” jeans are totally flattering and fashionable – don’t get it twisted. I actually bought these jeans at the Goodwill outlet for $1.39 but unfortunately, they had a hole right in between the but hole area.  One night scrolling through instagram I came across a pair that had been distressed like these and I immediately wanted a pair. However, after a few google searches I realized that these were redone. Of course, because of the “Kardashian effect” these were soon available in a shitload of websites, here and here. Since I am a DIY’er myself, I told myself that I would try to make myself a pair before I shelled out the cash. These are my interpretation of them but I will be honest, I did not 100% love the look so I think I’ll be buying a pair, hehe ^_^ . If you want to distress a pair yourself, google search “how to distress jeans” and you will find tons of tutorials that will teach you how to try it. I suggest you start with a pair you don’t mind “testing” it on BEFORE you do it on a pair you love.

It’s no secret that this fall season “on trend” item is the suit. There are suits EVERYWHERE and almost EVERY celeb out there is rocking a suit, blazer, trousers, etc. I for one, have always owned suits (for work) blazers and trousers, so this has been a super easy thing for me to replicate. I also own multiple blazers because I personally love a good blazer but I have been falling more and more in love with the double breasted blazer. I know most people think of the mafia when they think of the double breasted blazer but there’s something so cool about them. Which is probably one of the reasons why the mafiosos wore these. I was actually at an H&M the first time I saw them at fast fashion shop and when I pulled the blazer out of the rack, I almost fainted! It was marked for $80-ish dollars? I can’t remember but I scuffed at the idea. Do you know how many of these are just WAITING at your nearest thrift store to be taken home!? I did what I do best. I went to my local thrift store and there. it. was. This beauty was hanging on the coats/blazers sections for a cool $4.00. The blazer is in impeccable condition and sure, this might be a decade old but you can’t tell.

Since it’s casual Friday I knew I wanted something laid back but chic to wear so I pulled these two pieces together. I originally was going to wear a white long sleeve top but it’s pretty chilly outside so I stuck to a long sleeve bodysuit which was warmer. Keeping my height in mind, I opted for a pair of heels but you know I do the most sometimes so leopard heels it was. I’m trying this new thing where I try to style my hair more, so here you go. A half up/half down do that took me back to my middle school days with my heart bamboo hoops.

Faux-Fur Bomber Jacket

Now that most leaves have fallen on the ground, it truly looks like fall. I didn’t realize how much fun it was to play with leaves until we ( my husband and I ) discovered that our dog, Sir Teddy, likes to walk through leave piles. Sir Teddy enjoys walking through a freshly raked pile of leaves. My guess is that he must like the leaves brushing his fur but there is no way of confirming this.

There are few stores that I like to go to on Black Friday and the Gap is one them. I should mention that the Gap was my first job and therefore, I have a biased love affair. As far as I can remember their discount for Black Friday is 50% off. I can no longer benefit from their employee discount, so this is the one time of year I splurge there. I went for the purpose of stocking up on sweaters but once I got there, I was torn between the faux-fur bomber jacket and the oversized faux-fur jacket. In the end, I chose the faux-fur bomber jacket because, I NEEDED a winter bomber jacket (not really but lol). The jacket is super warm and the faux-fur trim is so soft and plush, this will definitely be a fall staple.  I went for a super casual look with this outfit, so I wore a pair of blue jeans, coincidentally enough from the Gap, a tiered ruffle sleeve sweater and my Vince Camuto booties. I completed my look with a blush lipstick and a pair of aviators because you have to wear aviators with a bomber jacket, duh, lol. I’m thinking the next outfit I pair this jacket with, will be a bit more classy, stay tuned.

Jacket: The Gap, faux-fur bomber jacket, (half-off sale): $64.00 / Jeans: The Gap, clearance sale: $7.99; Top: Mood and Madison Layered tiered ruffle sweater, $12.00 / Shoes: Vince Camuto. Outfit total: $85.00

Sometimes, you just gotta let the shoes do all the talking

Pants: Gap Outlet, “Ultra Skinny”

My boyfriend and I have VERY different taste. His style is very subtle, “tranquil” with a hint of color. That is the best way I can describe his style, lol. Mine, it’s more like all over the place. I do not stick to one color, trend, shade, style “type”; I just go with whatever mood I happy to be on that particular day.

Every night, I prep my clothes for the next day because this saves me a lot of time in the morning. I normally try things on, to make sure they fit or look like how I want it too ( since I plan outfits in my head, sometime it looks better in my head loll). I walked out of the closet and I ask my boyfriend ( expect a reaffirmation that the outfit is ok for work) “What do you think aboutthis for work tomorrow?” Now, I only asked because I like his second opinion when it comes to work. I work at a real estate office and although it is usually only me in the office, I want to make sure that my outfit isn’t “too much” for work, since I can get carried away sometimes, lol lol. He looked at me from head to toe and said, “the shoes are too much; it looks like you’re going out, out” ( his words I promise) Man was I disappointed for half a second. I then replied, ” the shirt is appropriate and so  the shirt, I’m wearing the darn shoes.” He then said, “well, I think the shoes are too much.” As I walked away, I turned and said, ” sometimes, you just have to let the shoes do all the talking.” Ha! I wore the darn shoes and the necklace to boot. It was a casual Thursday, the day before Halloween if I may add, why not?

Total Cost of this outfit: $258

Easy Sunday

Sunday, the day that we should take time off from our busy schedules and rest. For me, it was an easy going morning and afternoon. I went to a Seafood Festival where the food was YUUUUMMMM ! Of course if you grow up you on the coast or in an island, you either  learn to love or loath seafood. In my case, I love seafood! I can’t get enough of it. The boyfriend and I had an easy afternoon of walking, snapping pics and eating. Now, it’s time for reality and homework it is. I have two semesters to go before graduation and plan on passing every single class left in my curriculum. I am ready lord!

This is an easy outfit, not much that I did to make it stand out as the color is a stand out all on its own. I paired it with strappy, beige/off white ruffled sandals (BTW thrifted brand new with tags at Goodwill for $5.00!) and a vintage cross body ( not shown) Dooney & Bourke bag. I kept my face bare with a bit of gloss and natural eyeshadow.

Hope you all had a fantastic Sunday.

“Fall”

SONY DSCSONY DSCSONY DSC

Ok, so today was a rather strange day. We got “fall” like weather in Miami and I must admit, I was one happy camper. Finally, we have opened our doors to a cool breeze, very low humidity and a “feather weight” chill. It was perfect.

Since the weather was soooo lovely today, the weather inspired my outfit. I decided to sport these black legging jeans from the gap, liquid chunky boots from the gap and a green top I bought at my local Marshall’s. The outfit was cool enough for the breeze but light enough for the heat. If there is one amazing things about this city, is that you need to learn how to dress for it. Our winters are extremely mild (snowbirds don’t even call them winters) and our summers are very hot. I topped this look by picking up my hair and a bold oxford blood lip. I wanted my outfit to represent the dark colors of fall.
