It has been a bit chilly ( like 60 degrees (F) )down here in South Florida, so the weather has been keeping me on the down side. This is a simple outfit I threw together to get my day going on an early morning. I will admit though, that sweater and jacket were off by late afternoon. I didn’t realize how monochromatic I kept this look until after I walked out the door but I loved it. It is just a simple outfit that looks chic and like I didn’t try too much.
The sweater is an oversized waffle sweater I bought from Forever 21 about 2 seasons ago. I purchased the jeans and the leather jacket at Goodwill for a huge bargain and the boots were added just to make this outfit chic.
Outfit Total: $9.00
- Jeans: $3.00
- Jacket: $6.00
P.S. I have opted out of listing the sweater and boots since I bought those items over 2 years ago.

It has been very cold in South Florida ! I mean, like HIGH of 51 degrees ( low of 37) where I am currently posting from ( Orlando, FL) and that is unusual for this part of the Southern State. I am currently at my in-law’s and this happened to be the weekend that they are switching over from Internet providers so I had to use the internet the good ol’ fashion way. Now, this isn’t your local McDonalds or Starbucks because come to find out their internet is very very slow. Nope, I had to come to the library! Do those even exist anymore?! Yes, they do people, lol! So here I am at the library using the internet because apparently my in-laws are currently living the dark ages. Oh, thee how I miss the convenience of wi-fi.
We are here for a few days and when I travel, I always check the weather ( especially this time of the year) to make sure that I pack the appropriate clothes for the weather. Thankfully I packed warm sweaters because it is cold and if you are familiar with Orlando malls, they are mostly outdoors. I am actually wearing a repeat sweater that did a post on a few months back. This time around I am wearing my sweater with a pair of black pants, black boots and a grey jacket. I do have another much larger coat with me because lord knows it will get cold later on tonight.
Hope you are all enjoying your weekend.
So, I basically live in thrift stores. At my local thrift store, everyone and I mean everyone in the store knows me as the frequent buyer. I drive around this city looking for the best thrift stores and I do not shy away from the most “suspect” looking shops. I love bargain shopping and I am not afraid to dig in. Back in November, our local church hosted a “Carnival” ( more like a fair) and every year they have a used clothing store. The prices range from $1.00 – $5.00, depending on the item that you are purchasing. Of course, this is the first place I checkout before I even stuff myself with elephant ears, cotton candy and the local cuisine. When I stepped in I saw the usual, shoes, shirts, dresses etc… I noticed that they had a sign that read ” Wall items $1.00″ racks “$2.00”. I dove right into the “wall section” where of course everything was one dollar. As I looked through the racks of clothing hanging on the wall, I noticed this camel wool coat hanging. I immediately pulled it out ( my heart might have stopped beating for a few seconds) and tried it on. It fit exactly how I had wanted it! I checked it for stains, smells, defects and knew right away it was MINE. As I went to check out, I still could not believe that one of falls “it” item was going to be in my closet, for a whopping $1.00! As you can see, yes, thrift store shoppings does pay off.

The cold weather has made its way down south and it has been very cold these last few days. I have made it my mission to try to stay warm as I get cold easily. I look ridicules with the extra layers of clothes I wear every day, lol. Anyway, this is a simple look I pulled together yesterday. Sorry the photos are grainy, but I took them towards the night and my camera ( since it doesn’t have the flash) isn’t the best at night.
There is something about the cold weather that makes every one wear dark clothes. When its cold, I only gravitate towards all things dark, deep and rich in color. I bought the top on eBay and although it is warm and it is a nice shirt, I hate the sleeves ( hence why i rolled them up). The sleeve are not even 3/4 they’re just weird, the cut is wrong. I am going to fix this issue by perhaps making it 3/4 and taking the fabric in a bit. I paired it with faux-leather jeans, black booties and black purse. I added a bit of color by wearing a nice dark red lip.
