Faux-Fur Leopard Vest + Leopard Dress = Matchy-Mismatchy

Here’s another fashion rule I am breaking today: Don’t mix or wear no more than one animal print at a time.  Consider this rule broken. *Side note* Believe it or not, this look was not inspired by Beyonce’s OTRT2 leopard print out.

Outfit Details

The mixing of animal prints in one outfit has actually become a very popular trend and several celebrities and fashion bloggers have been doing it. In order to achieve this look, you’re grouping items in a similar print or color and wearing them together.* I actually did not mix my prints together purposely (to be on trend). I really wanted to wear this sweater dress but I wanted to wear a jacket to keep warm, so I pulled the vest out. Once I put them together, I really loved the look, so I was like, “what the hell.”  I almost wore a pair of lighter leopard booties but I changed my mind and now, I think I should have.

I chose OTK boots because it was cold out and the leopard booties I have are actually ankle booties. I knew I did not want to be towing around a coat with me everywhere so I figured I keep warm with boots and the vest. The accessories were pretty bare this time; I wore a brown lip and vinyl clutch. By the way, how cute is this vinyl clutch? For some odd and funny reason this clutch reminds me of a toad! I don’t why but it does, lol. If you really like this clutch, then hold on to your wig, cause guess what?! Zara, has a VERY similar style like this one, coincidence? I’m thinking someone at Zara saw the post of me wearing this bag and they copied, HAHAHA. I don’t think that’s true but you never know, right? lol.

T H R E E M I X = The Chunky Turtleneck

Winter styling can be difficult because you want to stay warm but  you want to look fashionable/stylish at the same damn time. That is why I wanted to style a winter staple: the Chunky Sweater. Chunky sweaters are an absolute must during the winter season and weather you like a crew neck, v-neck, cowl neck or turtleneck sweater, you probably have one in your closet. When it comes to styling them, they’re usually an afterthought because we associate them with comfort and not for an evening out or even office wear. So here are the three (well four) different ways I styled this sweater.

P.S. Now that I have more blog content, I am going to try to post the Threemix segment at least every other week.

Winter Wool Coat: Herringbone Edition

The New Year came terribly cold and with that, all the winter gear had to be pulled. I realize after this shoot that I did not take photos of the dress that I was wearing and that is because it was too cold to do so. I’m sure they’ll be a next time, as I plan on wearing all of my sweater dresses.

If I had to choose an article of clothing that I could only wear for the rest of my life, that would probably be dresses. I love wearing dresses all year long and I might have way too many in my closet. Today, I am featuring this wonderful houndstooth wool dress that I purchased at Goodwill. I honestly didn’t think this dress was going to be warm enough but it actually is. In order to keep cozy, I wore this beautiful herringbone coat I also purchased at Goodwill, with a plaid wool scarf and my suede OTK boots. I accessorized with a pair of velvet houndstooth gloves and my black Furla satchel. I love how the different fabric patterns blended beautifully creating a clean chic look for work and not one that is too busy for the eye.
