Brand New

It’s been a struggle trying to blog lately. I recently moved and I have been trying to hold my life together. I did go thrift shopping the other day and boy did I find wonderful goodies. I will be sharing them on a different segment on my blog in the next coming days. This top was actually from that trip šŸ™‚

G R A D U A T I O N

Hello Loves!

I have been quite M.I.A for the past month because I was fully preparing to complete my degree. I needed to really focus in school, so I gave that a priority and decided my blog needed to take a back seat. I finally graduated and I will now turn back to my blog because quite frankly, I missed it.

Here are a few photos of my graduation.

Happy Fashion,

My #1 fan, supporter, photographer and lover

Light and Crisp

There is something so crisp about a white button up shirt and black pants. I consider it to be one of my favorite classic looks because you can wear this ensemble either up or down and look very well put together. For this look, I wanted to wear it up but if you wanted to wear this down, it can be easily achieved by wearing a pair of converse, less makeup, a cute cross body or backpack and instead of the chunky chain a nice big watch orĀ earrings.

Outfit Details

For this look, I wanted my accessories to do all the talking. Since the colors are very neutral I decided that I wanted to keep that neutrality but with a bit of “spice”. I added these gorgeous patent leather mules that I purchased at Goodwill for $7.00 and this chunky “snake-like” chain to really make this outfit stand out. I finished it with red lips and red toe nails.

Happy Fashion.

The $1.00 dollar Wool Coat

So, I basically live in thrift stores. At my local thrift store, everyone and I mean everyone in the store knows me as the frequent buyer. I drive around this city looking for the best thrift stores and I do not shy away from the most “suspect” looking shops. I love bargain shopping and I am not afraid to dig in. Back in November, our local church hosted a “Carnival” ( more like a fair)Ā and every year they have a used clothing store. The prices range from $1.00 – $5.00, depending on the item that you are purchasing. Of course, this is the first place I checkout before I even stuff myself with elephant ears, cotton candy and the local cuisine. When I stepped in I saw the usual, shoes, shirts, dresses etc… I noticed that they had a sign that read ” Wall items $1.00″ racks “$2.00”.Ā I dove right into the “wall section” where of course everything was one dollar. As I looked through the racks of clothing hanging on the wall, I noticed this camel wool coat hanging. I immediately pulled it out ( my heart might have stopped beating for a few seconds) and tried it on. It fit exactly how I had wanted it! I checked it for stains, smells, defects and knew right away it was MINE. As I went to check out, I still could not believe that one of falls “it” item was going to be in my closet, for a whopping $1.00! As you can see, yes, thrift store shoppings does pay off.

Happy Fashion.

The Simple Things

SONY DSC

Hello Loves!

The cold weather has made its way down south and it has been very cold these last few days. I have made it my mission to try to stay warm as I get cold easily. I look ridicules with the extra layers of clothes I wear every day, lol. Anyway, this is a simple look I pulled together yesterday. Sorry the photos are grainy, but I took them towards the night and my camera ( since it doesn’t have the flash) isn’t the best at night.

The outfit

There is something about the cold weather that makes every one wear dark clothes. When its cold, I only gravitate towards all things dark, deep and rich in color.Ā I bought the top on eBay and although it is warm and it is a nice shirt, I hate the sleeves ( hence why i rolled them up). The sleeve are not even 3/4 they’re just weird, the cut is wrong. I am going to fix this issue by perhaps making it 3/4 and taking the fabric in a bit. I paired it with faux-leather jeans, black booties and black purse. I added a bit of color by wearing a nice dark red lip.

Cost of Outfit: $53.00

  • Top: $5.00
  • Jeans: $25.00
  • purse: $3.00
  • Boots: $20.00
