There is something about this outfit that reminds me of Carrie Bradshaw. I think it might be the coat or perhaps its because I have been watching reruns of Sex And The City. I bought this pretty little skirt at Ann Taylor back in spring and I never got around to it. It’s a pretty little skirt with the cutest little scallops on the bottom. It reminds me of the Christian Dior 2016 Ready-to-wear collection (here) white scalloped shorts. Of course, my version is much more affordable. Since the skirt fits me right on my waist, I decided to pair with a crop top and this cute spring coat. The shoes were my little pop of (preppy) color.

Fringe is still hot this season and it is rolling right into the next. I purchased this skirt back in spring and have been in love with it since. I wanted a chic and “lazy” outfit for a lazy Saturday and this was perfect.
Hope you have a wonderful Saturday.

Summers favorite fabric?! Linen of course!
I have a special kind of love for linen because it can make you feel naked and cool even in the most treacherous weather conditions. This is a lovely linen dress I scored at Goodwill for like $3.00 (totally winning) and it is completely vintage but oh-so cool ( in every meaning of the word).
I actually “styled” my hair – more like twist it to the side and called it an up-do – but to my defense it actually does look style. I wanted to wear my leopard heels with this so bad because I just love leopard and burgundy. I added burgundy lips to match and of course my super sleek sunglasses to match.
Hope ya’ll digs.

Pastels must be the long word for pastries! ( no, its not, but it should). Being a spring baby I can’t help but love pastels. The sweetness of the colors is as tasteful as cupcakes, and like cupcakes, should be worn sparingly. I only say this because lets be honest, as pretty as the colors are ( like white) they get dirty easily and are normally associated with spring. Although, this “rule” this fall season, when pastels were seen all over the runway.
I revolved this outfit around my pants – I really like how flattering they are. I knew I wanted to do pastels, so I paired it with these very pretty blue shirt and my bedazzled Steve Madden Heels. The outcome? I nice mixture of pastels and metallics. Hope you all like!

I love shift dresses because they are comfortable and breezy in the summer time. I was lucky enough to find this dress at a thrift store the other day for only $5.00. I know, am I so lucky. As soon as I saw this dress I knew it had to be mine. It is such a versatile peace because I am wear it to the beach or wear it out for a nice day out. On the same day I found this dress I was also fortunate enough to find these adorable shoes from MAXSTUDIO and those were only $10! I am not bragging, I promise 😉 .

It has been a bit chilly ( like 60 degrees (F) )down here in South Florida, so the weather has been keeping me on the down side. This is a simple outfit I threw together to get my day going on an early morning. I will admit though, that sweater and jacket were off by late afternoon. I didn’t realize how monochromatic I kept this look until after I walked out the door but I loved it. It is just a simple outfit that looks chic and like I didn’t try too much.
The sweater is an oversized waffle sweater I bought from Forever 21 about 2 seasons ago. I purchased the jeans and the leather jacket at Goodwill for a huge bargain and the boots were added just to make this outfit chic.
Outfit Total: $9.00
- Jeans: $3.00
- Jacket: $6.00
P.S. I have opted out of listing the sweater and boots since I bought those items over 2 years ago.

When in doubt, wear neutrals. That is the rule I have made for myself when I have absolutely no idea what to wear and just want to rush out the door. My second rule? When in doubt, wear a pair of jeans and a t-shirt. This could be any t-shirt and jeans really. Finally, my last rule: when in doubt, wear heels and a jacket ( just in case it gets chilly). Of course, if you are going somewhere extremely casual then wear comfy shoes but do take your jacket. This is a simple look that can be pulled off any day really. It requires minimal effort, its simple and it doesn’t look like you tried too hard, which in my case, I didn’t.
The jeans I bought at the Gap last year and it is their boyfriend jeans. I did not buy them ripped like that actually. What really happened is I have the biggest tights and knees. Whenever, I bend or crouch down the small tear that they had turned into a huge tear. Luckily, I don’t care so I think they accidentally turned out pretty well. I paired the jeans with a simple tank, a jacket and these gorgeous heels I scored at Steve Madden two weeks ago for $19.99. Lucky girl. The purse happens to be my favorite. I bought it a thrift store for $2.00.

Today, I borrowed a few tips from the boys. I love menswear – the suits, the jackets, the blazers, the pants, the shoes…I can go on and on. The top really inspired this look because the bow really makes it seems as if I were wearing a tie as opposed to a knot made on the shirt. Once I put the top on and made the bow, I knew that I was going to be wearing my high-waisted gingham pants. It is the perfect piece to wear with this gorgeous top. This is a nice subtle yet chic way of borrowing pieces from the boys without looking too masculine. I kept the outfit simple by wearing black heels, a black clutch & a black coat ( it’s been chilly). In order to give it that extra “POW” I side swept my curls and wore a bold red lip.
I love how this outfit came out nicely because it reminds me of the 50’s – back when women wore high-waisted pants, gorgeous hair and red lips. The pants look extremely slimming and the top is just the perfect piece that really makes this outfit standout. I recently purchased this top from Loft by Ann Taylor ( outlet ) as they were having a huge sale. The pants are also from Ann Taylor but these were purchased at goodwill and I have a feeling these probably date back a few years.
Outfit total: $50.00 (<- A complete coincidence lol)

- Pants: $3.00
- Shoes: $25.00
- Clutch: $4.00

So, I basically live in thrift stores. At my local thrift store, everyone and I mean everyone in the store knows me as the frequent buyer. I drive around this city looking for the best thrift stores and I do not shy away from the most “suspect” looking shops. I love bargain shopping and I am not afraid to dig in. Back in November, our local church hosted a “Carnival” ( more like a fair) and every year they have a used clothing store. The prices range from $1.00 – $5.00, depending on the item that you are purchasing. Of course, this is the first place I checkout before I even stuff myself with elephant ears, cotton candy and the local cuisine. When I stepped in I saw the usual, shoes, shirts, dresses etc… I noticed that they had a sign that read ” Wall items $1.00″ racks “$2.00”. I dove right into the “wall section” where of course everything was one dollar. As I looked through the racks of clothing hanging on the wall, I noticed this camel wool coat hanging. I immediately pulled it out ( my heart might have stopped beating for a few seconds) and tried it on. It fit exactly how I had wanted it! I checked it for stains, smells, defects and knew right away it was MINE. As I went to check out, I still could not believe that one of falls “it” item was going to be in my closet, for a whopping $1.00! As you can see, yes, thrift store shoppings does pay off.

Today is my last Friday before my reality starts again… School that is. I have one more semester to go before graduation and I really want this to be over. I like school, but I am sooo over it. I am ready to be done with it and never look back. Since this is my last Friday of freedom, I have a few things planned for this weekend. I am going to go on dinner “date” with a few friends and family, going out to South Beach and then to the park on Sunday. This is why today, I choose something relaxed so that I can run all my errands in peace.
I based my outfit around my shoes. I knew I wanted to wear something chic yet comfy so I choose to wear these cute shoes I bought at Goodwill from Zara. Since the shoes are nude, I knew I wanted to wear this peplum top with the cute peter pan collar. I also got this shirt at Goodwill for a steal, $3.00!I kept things extra casual by wearing jeans and one of my favorite vintage handbags from Dooney & Bourke, also purchased at Goodwill.
