Things are starting to finally get warm around here and it’s time to wear two seasons in one day. I’ve been playing around with lighter sweaters and cardigans as of late in order to stay warm and cool. It is casual Friday’s so I wanted to wear something that I could wear to the office and happy hour. The go-to here? Jeans and heels.
Crochet is not only made by grandma’s sitting on a rocking chair on a cold winter night while their lazy cat is curled up in front of the fireplace. Crochet instantly reminds us of our grandmothers and hot cocoa but it’s more than that sweater you only wear once a year. If worn correctly it can spruce up any outfit and make you look chic while feeling comfortable. I found this sweater at Goodwill with no tags on it so I’m assuming that some grandmother made this for their granddaughter and for some sad reason it ended up in Goodwill. I did find some very pretty crochet options here and here, although they don’t come at the comforting price of grandma’s love. This is an oversized sweater and in order to avoid looking frumpy, I decided to wear these boyfriend jeans. Truth be told, they fit me a bit more fitted then loose but I didn’t want to wear skinny jeans. I kept the jeans rolled up at the ankles in order to expose the laser cut booties and a vintage metal mesh clutch. This entire outfit was also thrifted, except the shoes.

This is one of those simple outfits I put together when I have to run out the door. It’s a nice casual look that makes it seem as if I put in a lot of effort when in reality I didn’t even try. I purchased this Gap skirt a few years back and it was still hanging in my closet with the tags on, shhh, don’t tell my husband. I bought this back when “skater/circle” skirts were all the rave and the Gap made one for their fall collection. I love these skirts because they have a youthful feel to them. The material and color makes it versatile enough for anyone in my age group to pull off. Since I am on the smaller scale, I tucked my sweater in and wore a pair of high heeled booties. I layered the look with a faux-leather moto jacket, a pair of black leggings and in order to tame the mane I wore a wool floppy fedora.
Skirt: Gap / Turtleneck: Talbots, purchased at Goodwill: $4.00 / Jacket: Mine Faux-Leather Moto Jacket, purchased at Goodwill: $5.00 / Shoes: Vince Camuto / Bag: Furla Satchel, purchased on Poshmark, $60.00 / Hat: NO brand Floppy Fedora Hat, purchased at Goodwill: $2.00 / Outfit total: $72.00

This is outfit number three of my mini-series: Holiday Outfits. I am actually excited about this outfit because everything was purchased at Goodwill except the clutch.
As I’ve mentioned before, I love anything sparkly: sequin, embellishments, glitter etc., I am THE person that purchases every single piece of vintage-embellished dresses at the thrift store because why not? I saw this top glittering across store from the corner of my eye and I ran to it before someone else snagged it from me. I knew this was a special piece but I didn’t know HOW special it was until I saw the tag, this is a VINCE top. I had been wanting a pair of silk pants and I immediately knew that I wanted to wear this top with silk pants. The shirt has glass embellishments with gold sequins and I really wanted more of the gold to stand out in this out so I wore a pair of clear chunky heel ankle straps and a loctite clutch to match with the heel. Of course, since it’s cold outside, I finished this look with my fur coat.
Fur Coat: Pairs Blues, purchased at Goodwill: $8.00 / Blouse: Vince, purchased at Goodwill: $4.00 / Pants: Ann Taylor Ankle Silk Pants, purchased at Goodwill: $4.00 / Shoes: Dollhouse, purchased at Goodwill: $8.00 / Clutch: Vince Camuto $40.00 / Total: $64.00

Now that most leaves have fallen on the ground, it truly looks like fall. I didn’t realize how much fun it was to play with leaves until we ( my husband and I ) discovered that our dog, Sir Teddy, likes to walk through leave piles. Sir Teddy enjoys walking through a freshly raked pile of leaves. My guess is that he must like the leaves brushing his fur but there is no way of confirming this.
There are few stores that I like to go to on Black Friday and the Gap is one them. I should mention that the Gap was my first job and therefore, I have a biased love affair. As far as I can remember their discount for Black Friday is 50% off. I can no longer benefit from their employee discount, so this is the one time of year I splurge there. I went for the purpose of stocking up on sweaters but once I got there, I was torn between the faux-fur bomber jacket and the oversized faux-fur jacket. In the end, I chose the faux-fur bomber jacket because, I NEEDED a winter bomber jacket (not really but lol). The jacket is super warm and the faux-fur trim is so soft and plush, this will definitely be a fall staple. I went for a super casual look with this outfit, so I wore a pair of blue jeans, coincidentally enough from the Gap, a tiered ruffle sleeve sweater and my Vince Camuto booties. I completed my look with a blush lipstick and a pair of aviators because you have to wear aviators with a bomber jacket, duh, lol. I’m thinking the next outfit I pair this jacket with, will be a bit more classy, stay tuned.
Jacket: The Gap, faux-fur bomber jacket, (half-off sale): $64.00 / Jeans: The Gap, clearance sale: $7.99; Top: Mood and Madison Layered tiered ruffle sweater, $12.00 / Shoes: Vince Camuto. Outfit total: $85.00

I have been in love with this skirt since the moment I laid eyes on. It was a perfect thrifter’s find that left me drooling for days. I’m not sure why they call it a car wash skirt but I love it. Its the prefect color and metallic finish that really makes the outfit skirt standout. I decided to wear this skirt with this gorgeous bow top and plexiglass clutch.

This is one of my favorite summer dresses but sadly, I might have to give this cute little number up. This no longer fits like I want it to so I might have to give it up soon. For this hot and steamy day I decided to pair it with contrasting taupe faux-snake sandals and a crochet-ish clutch. The sunglasses where just my touch of coolness.
Hope you enjoy.

As I mentioned on my previous post, this denim skirt has been my favorite summer piece. I have worn this skirt a million times but here are the three ways, I have blogged about it thus far.The great thing about denim, whether it be jeans, shorts, shirt or a skirt, is that it is very versatile. Denim can be dressed either up or down, the trick is knowing: knowing how to.

I am a huge fan of denim – hence, I own denim tops, skirts, jeans, shorts and dresses. I love the versatility and the comfortability of the fabric. Denim is the one item in your closet that will NEVER go out of style. I was in the mood for a denim skirt and went I remembered I had this acid wash denim shirt, I knew I just had to sport it.
The one thing I love about this outfit is that it looks sporty. The shirt gives the outfit a very relaxed look, although I am wearing heels. The shoes really pull this outfit together by making it look sporty but the skirt adds that splash of feminine. The combination of the acid wash shirt and the ripped skirt, really play into the sportiness and rustic look of this outfit. I wanted to add a dark pop of color so I opted for my red clutch and bold red lips to really seal this look.
Shoes: Vince Camuto
Blue and red are my favorite colors! So when I saw this cobalt blue dress, I knew I had to buy it. My only complaint is, I wish it was lined. It’s not, so I can feel the threading of the waist rub on me so I have to wear a slit under. Other than that I love this dress. I decided to pull out my white booties to go with it since I was in the mood for boots. I know it’s summer who wears boots in the summer time, especially in Florida BUT they’re peep toe 😉 . Again, I pulled the hard plastic clear clutch and I accessorized with gold since silver would have been more predictable.
