Polka Dots + Pussy Bow Tie Blouse

This is officially the last week of winter and I am excited. Winter, you will NOT be missed. Somehow I managed to put on more weight this season so I am currently on gym life 6 days a week. I have to go back down to my pre-wedding weight because my clothes fit tight and I refuse to get rid of half of my closet. Stay tuned for my body transformation.

I have to let you all know right now, this dress was .97 cents. How you may ask? At the Goodwill outlet. Yup! The Goodwill outlet is that place where few will go to find the best deals because the shopping setting is NOT the best. Imagine an empty CVS or Walgreen sized store empty with nothing but a cash register in front of the store with a giant weigh scale and a large bucket like rectangular tables filled with clothes to the very top; see here. Yes, its not glamours but that is where I have found some of my best finds. The dress is not in 100% perfect condition as the belt is showing some wear and tear but I’ll find a belt to replace it with. Since I was wearing this to work, I decided to add a blouse in the inside and that blouse happened to have a tie. I muted the accessories by keeping everything black but I added a red lip for a pop of color. The final look – polka dots with a 60’s vibe.

Dress: Vintage, Paul Michelle, Goodwill: .97 cents / Shirt: Forever 21, Goodwill: $4.00 / thrifted total: $4.97

Silk Bomber Jacket + Pencil Skirt

Bomber jackets are the epitome of cool girl streetwear. I have amassed a nice collection of bomber jackets and I simply can’t get enough. I have them in different shades, materials and for every occasion. I have been very luck to have found THE coolest bomber jacket on the planet, THE Chanel (?) gold chain bomber jacket that Rihanna, Miley Cyrus and Teyana Taylor have been spotted wearing; I’ll feature it on the blog later on in the spring season.

Today though, let’s talk about this cool silk champagne bomber jacket. Of course, this is another thrift store find and guess what? This whole look (with the exception of the shoes) came straight from Goodwill. I’ve been wearing a lot of monochromatic outfits lately but I love the mix between green and beige/champagne so when I put this look together, I knew I wanted a jacket that stood out. I love how this buttery champagne jacket contrasted my dark green outfit. This is one of my transitional outfits from one season to the next. The pencil skirt is wool and the top although sheer, also has a nice wool-like feel to it that makes it perfect for the early signs of spring. Instead of wearing open toe shoes, I opted for booties to keep the toes warm and I accessorized with a faux-ostrich clutch to match the booties.

Jacket: Silkland Silk Champagne Bomber Jacket, purchased at Goodwill: $4.00 / Top: Zara,  purchased at Goodwill: $4.00 / Skirt: Lucia Basics Green Pencil Skirt, purchased at Goodwill: $4.00 / Clutch: Faux-Ostrich Envelope Clutch, No Brand, purchased at Goodwill: $2.00 / Thrift total: $14.00

Faux-Leather Moto Jacket + Python Mules

It’s Valentines Day and I hope you are all spending it with the ones that you love the most, Happy Valentines Day!

Outfit Details

There are days when I look at my closet and feel inspired but there are other days when I just throw things together and run out the house. This is one of those simple, out-the-door outfits. It’s getting warmer around here and I am running out of time to wear these clogs because these bad boys can make your feet sweat if it’s too warm out. I kept it simple by wearing ripped jeans, a white sweater and my faux-leather moto jacket. The other thing that makes this outfit even cooler? The entire outfit except the shoes were thrifted.

Jeans: Gap, purchased at Goodwill: $5.00 / Sweater: Banana Republic, purchased at Goodwill: $4.00 /  Jacket: BB. Dakota Faux-leather Jacket, purchased at Goodwill: $5.00 / Thrifted total: $14.00

T H R E E M I X = The Chunky Turtleneck

Winter styling can be difficult because you want to stay warm but  you want to look fashionable/stylish at the same damn time. That is why I wanted to style a winter staple: the Chunky Sweater. Chunky sweaters are an absolute must during the winter season and weather you like a crew neck, v-neck, cowl neck or turtleneck sweater, you probably have one in your closet. When it comes to styling them, they’re usually an afterthought because we associate them with comfort and not for an evening out or even office wear. So here are the three (well four) different ways I styled this sweater.

P.S. Now that I have more blog content, I am going to try to post the Threemix segment at least every other week.
